Are your candles safe to burn around children and pets?
Yes. Our wax is a soy-coconut blend with no paraffin and no benzene; our wicks are cotton (no lead, no zinc) and our fragrance load is 8% with no phthalates. As with any open flame, please trim the wick to a quarter inch before each burn, never leave a candle unattended, and keep flame at least 12 inches from anything flammable.
How long does the soap bar last?
A 4oz bar lasts most users between 4 and 6 weeks of daily face or hand washing. To extend bar life, use a draining soap dish — sitting in water doubles dissolve rate. The cold-process cure leaves our bars harder than typical glycerin soaps, so they hold up well to daily use.
Will the linen pillow covers shrink in the wash?
No. We pre-wash and stonewash the linen in our studio before sewing, so the shrink has already happened. You can wash on warm, tumble dry low, and the cover will return to the same dimensions cohort after cohort.
Are the stoneware mugs and dinner plates dishwasher safe?
Yes. We high-fire to vitrify the stoneware so it is fully waterproof and food-safe, and we use a lead-free matte sand glaze. Top rack is best to keep the foot ring from rubbing against another piece, but the bodies are dishwasher and microwave safe.
Will the wool throw shed?
Lightly, in the first two weeks, then it settles. Brush gently against the weave once a week during the break-in period — the loose fibres lift out and the throw stops shedding. We do not weave with shorter scrap fibres, so shedding is minimal compared to a typical chenille throw.
Where do you ship?
All 50 U.S. states plus Washington DC. We do not ship to U.S. territories or APO/FPO/DPO addresses, and we do not yet ship internationally. International expansion is on our roadmap for later 2026.
How quickly do orders ship?
Same-day from Charleston for orders placed before 4 PM Eastern, Monday through Friday. Standard ground transit is 3 to 5 business days. Two-day and overnight are available at checkout.
Do you do gift wrap or notes?
Yes. There is a free gift-note option on the cart page where you can write a short message; we hand-letter it on a brown kraft card and tuck it inside the carton with the order. Plastic-free, no card outside the carton, no marketing receipt — just your note and the piece.
Do you take returns?
Yes. We have a 60-day return window from delivery. Return shipping is free — we email a prepaid USPS or UPS label within one business day of your request. Refunds post within 5 business days of the return arriving back to our studio. Final-sale items are clearly marked as such on the product page.
Do you restock heritage cohorts?
No. The Heritage Wool Throw and Linen Bedding Set release in numbered cohorts, and once a cohort is gone we move to the next. If a piece you want is sold out, you can join the waitlist on the product page and we email when the next cohort opens, usually 8 to 12 weeks later.
Are your products vegan?
Some, but not all. Our soaps, candles, and ceramics are vegan. Our wool throws are made from sheep wool from animal-welfare-certified flocks, but they are not vegan. Linen and Belgian-flax pieces contain no animal product.
Can I visit the Charleston studio?
Yes. We host studio tours by appointment on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11 AM to 3 PM Eastern. Email contact@islasolutions.store with a couple of dates that work and we will confirm one. The studio is on Broad Street downtown, two blocks from the harbour.
Do you wholesale to retail shops?
Yes — to a small set of independent boutiques per city. We do not wholesale to chains, big-box retailers, or online marketplaces. If you run an independent boutique and would like to carry the range, email wholesale@islasolutions.store with your shop name and a couple of recent photos of your floor.
What is your packaging made of?
Kraft cartons (recycled cardboard), paper-tape seals, wood-wool fill, and a hand-lettered card. No plastic, no foam, no air pillows. The carton can go straight into curbside recycling.
What are your business hours?
Mon–Fri, 9 AM to 5 PM Eastern. Customer service emails are answered within one business day; phone is answered live during business hours and routes to voicemail outside them.
